Joseph Guzman: A Leader in Logistics SEMA's 35 Under 35

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) recognizes young innovators, entrepreneurs, and business owners who are impacting the automotive industry through its "35 Under 35" program. This recognition program is highly coveted among automotive enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Joseph Guzman specializes in logistics, and the knowledge he has acquired on the job has served him well.

In his time at Speedmaster, he has overseen a massive expansion of roles and responsibilities at the company's Southern California-based distribution center from 5,000 to 75,000 sq. ft., with an equivalent increase in productivity.

Guzman helped implement automated systems for Speedmaster that allowed an increase from 800 parcels per hour to 2,800 per hour, with a maximum human handling time of 10 seconds.

This might help to explain why the company has garnered awards for technology innovation and supply chain leadership from Pitney Bowes and Oracle, while making the Inc. Magazine Top 500 fastest-growing companies list.

"With Speedmaster growing at the rate we are and the milestones we are hitting, I would have to say the most exciting part is being part of a movement to make our visions and dreams a reality," he says. Not resting on his laurels, Guzman is a part of the team now working on plans for two new distribution centers: one in Europe and one in the Middle East.
