Justin Oquendo, based in Simi Valley, California, drives and owns the #1466 Class 1400 truck, built in collaboration with Ryan Kibbe of Kibbetech Racing. The truck was designed and fabricated from the ground up for one purpose: competing at the front of desert racing's most demanding classes.
The Powertrain
At the centre of the #1466 is a Speedmaster GM LS Top End Kit - a fully assembled system that includes:
- Speedmaster cylinder heads (fully assembled)
- Intake manifold and gaskets
- Valve covers
- Roller rockers, guide plates, and screw-in studs
The kit delivers a matched top end package engineered to perform as a single system - a critical factor in off-road racing, where reliability under sustained load separates finishers from DNFs.
2013 Season Results
Oquendo and the Kibbetech team focused the 2013 season on the Competition 1400 Series across the SNORE, HDRA, and LORS series - spanning desert racing and off-road short course formats. The program finished second in the Best In The Desert points championship with consistent results across the calendar:
- 1st Place - Silverstate 300
- 1st Place - Parker Bluewater Challenge (both days)
- 1st Place - Henderson 250
- 2nd Place - Parker 425
- 3rd Place - The Mint 400
- 3rd Place - Vegas to Reno
What the Results Represent
Six podium finishes across a full desert racing season - on courses that punish equipment as much as drivers. The Speedmaster LS Top End Kit ran every event, in conditions ranging from the Mint 400's high-speed desert terrain to the tight confines of short course racing. The consistency of the results reflects the durability and precision of the system under sustained, real-world stress.
Speedmaster continues to support Justin Oquendo and the Kibbetech Racing team as the program moves into its next season.
