It gives us great pleasure to announce Melissa Parra as the recipient of the Speedmaster Employee of the Year Award for 2021.

Melissa was chosen unanimously by the awards committee, which included members of the executive team and previous award winners, for her outstanding performance, dedication, and professionalism at work. "We are all proud to have MP (Melissa Parra) on our team, and we hope to keep her on her toes for many years to come," Speedmaster CEO Jason Kencevski said. 

The award is presented at our annual company retreat, which brings the Speedmaster global leadership together outside of the office once a year. This year's retreat, nicknamed "The Oasis," was held at the well-known La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, California.

This three-day event includes three to four keynote presentations and one or two guest speakers per day. During the retreat, the executive team is heavily biassed towards personal development rather than company goals and targets. "We'll have a sales or board meeting to discuss our goals, targets, and expectations." "The purpose of the event is to invest in our most valuable asset, our people," said DCEO Tim Kawasaki. 

The Grand Perpetual Annual Employee of the Year Award Trophy, is a depiction of Nike the female Goddess of Victory. It is not only grand in its references to Nike's history, but it is also nearly 2 feet tall.

Covid has been testing for many companies including Speedmaster. This year we would like to share an internal award ceremony to externally highlight what was testing times for many.

Designed to build the company future ethos of Speedmaster. The event allows down time around the pool whilst providing engaging topics and events like Speedmaster’s own version of Shark Tank.
