A Complete Build From the Ground Up
The Blackbird represents a milestone for Speedmaster: the company's first complete automobile, assembled entirely by its in-house team in California.
Based on the 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe, the Blackbird was built using Speedmaster's full range of driveline components - engine, drivetrain, and supporting systems - all designed and manufactured in-house. The build served as a real-world validation of what a fully integrated Speedmaster system delivers when every component works together.
Six Weeks to SEMA
The team completed the Blackbird in six weeks, delivering it to SEMA 2017 as a statement of engineering capability and vertical integration. More than a show car, it was proof of concept - a single vehicle demonstrating the breadth of Speedmaster's product range and the precision of its manufacturing.
The Blackbird was the beginning. More builds followed.
