A New Patent in the DNA Product Line
Speedmaster has been granted a patent for its shaft mount roller rocker design, the latest addition to the company's DNA product range - a line engineered to be distinct in design, materials, or application.
The patent adds to a record that includes nine SEMA awards, multiple existing patents, and SFI and NHRA approvals.
The Engineering
The patented design incorporates a pivot-and-triangle geometry that increases strength while reducing weight. The result is lower fatigue rates at high RPM - a measurable improvement in durability under sustained load.
The roller rockers use 2024-series aluminum, a material typically reserved for applications above 800 horsepower due to its strength-to-weight characteristics. At this tier, 2024 aluminum roller rockers are rarely mass-produced.
"Typically 2024 roller rockers are associated with 800-plus horsepower applications, as they are normally not mass produced. We have had enough commitment from resellers to be able to increase manufacture output, to lower the cost to the end consumer." - Ron Smelt, Head of Global R&D
Intent Behind the Design
"All DNA Speedmaster products are designed to be unique in some way, shape or fashion. This aligns with our company mission statement and I am excited that we continue to push ourselves and the industry." - Jason Kencevski, CEO
By scaling production through reseller commitments, Speedmaster is making 2024-series aluminum roller rockers accessible to a broader market - bringing engineering that was previously limited to high-end custom builds into standard applications.
