Product Range Expansion
Speedmaster grew its catalogue from 15,000 to 100,000 SKUs in 2016, placing the brand among the top three largest aftermarket automotive sellers globally. That scale is notable given that performance parts remain a niche market.
The expansion included partnerships with 150 affiliate brands and the addition of a dedicated 4WD product line. Both moves broadened the catalogue while maintaining Speedmaster's focus on engineered performance.
"We're looking forward to growing the new partnerships we've formed. The jump in affiliates has substantially grown our inventory and business." - Jason Kencevski, CEO of Speedmaster
The DNA Range
Speedmaster introduced the DNA range, a premium product line built to higher specification standards. The lineup included the El-Rayo Ignition System - featuring the company's latest patented design - alongside flywheels, flex plates, and rocker arms. Products in the DNA range carry SFI approvals, NHRA approvals, and patented engineering.
SEMA Recognition and Industry Awards
At the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Speedmaster took home two Global Media Awards, bringing its total to eight awards across seven consecutive years. CEO Jason Kencevski was nominated as one of the Top 50 Executives of the Year and received a second consecutive Gen III Innovator of the Year nomination. COO Jay Verduzco was inducted into the SEMA 35 Under 35.
Racing: Nine Consecutive ANDRA Championships
Speedmaster secured its ninth consecutive ANDRA Top Doorslammer Championship in 2016, adding to a total of more than 20 drag racing championships accumulated since 2006.
E-Commerce Performance
Speedmaster recorded its largest-ever online and offline sales revenue in 2016, with February marking the highest single-month revenue in company history. From 2005 to present, the brand maintained the highest consistency rating as an eBay top-rated seller, manufacturer, and storefront worldwide.
On the strength of that performance, Speedmaster was selected as the only automotive case study for Pitney Bowes, the global e-commerce provider serving more than 1.5 million businesses worldwide. Additional recognition included a place in the Top 100 Online Retail Stores for 2016 and ORIAS finalist nominations in three categories: Best In-Store Initiative, Best Multi Channel Retailer, and Best International Conquerer.
Building the Team
"We have exercised the need to build team leaders, encouraged a two-way communication path between employee and employer, and facilitated growth in our product development and innovation department. It's pleasing to see all the pieces start to come together." - Jason Kencevski, CEO of Speedmaster
