Supporting Spinal Cord Injury Research

Speedmaster participated in the Red Bull Wings for Life charity event, held in conjunction with Triple Eight Race Engineering (888 Engineering). At the event, Speedmaster acquired the 2013 Championship side guard signed by both Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes - a piece that represents both the highest level of V8 Supercars competition and a direct contribution to spinal cord injury research.

Wings for Life

The Wings for Life Foundation was established by two-time motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner and Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz. In 2003, Kinigadner's son Hannes sustained a spinal cord injury that left him tetraplegic. That personal experience drove both men to bring leading scientists together in Salzburg, where research by Prof. Dr. Sam David (1981) and Prof. Dr. Martin Schwab (early 1990s) had demonstrated that injured nerve cells in the spinal cord are capable of regeneration under specific treatment conditions.

The foundation funds ongoing research toward a cure for spinal cord injury - a cause that aligned with Speedmaster's broader commitment to community involvement and supporting meaningful initiatives beyond the performance industry.
