The Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals at Sonoma Raceway in California was a key stop on the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series schedule. Speedmaster, through its Procomp Electronics division, continued its presence in Top Fuel competition at the event.

Sonoma Raceway

Sonoma Raceway sits in the wine country of Northern California, and its drag strip has hosted NHRA national events for decades. The venue presents unique challenges for Top Fuel teams. Elevation, temperature, and humidity all affect engine tuning decisions, and the teams that adapt fastest to conditions tend to perform best when eliminations begin.

The 2010 Full Throttle Season

The 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series was a competitive season across all professional categories. In Top Fuel, the field featured established teams with deep resources and newer programs working to break through. Each national event added data points to the season-long championship picture, and Sonoma was no exception.

Engineering at the Limit

Top Fuel racing compresses more engineering variables into a shorter timeframe than almost any other form of motorsport. A single pass generates enough data to occupy a team's analysts between rounds. For Speedmaster and Procomp Electronics, each event in the season provided another set of real-world operating conditions to validate component performance against.

The Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals added another chapter to Speedmaster's 2010 NHRA season, continuing the program's commitment to competition at the highest level of drag racing.
